Personal Work

Kasparov

1:39

A personal project built around a simple question: how do you turn an everyday human experience into a story worth watching?

I developed the concept by connecting a moment from Garry Kasparov's chess career with neuroscience and a behavior we experience in our daily lives. The historical reference became the foundation for a broader narrative, giving the subject context before bringing it back to something personal and familiar.

For the production, I brought in a friend and directed his performance, working on delivery, reactions and timing to make the scripted scenes feel natural on camera.

I was responsible for the full creative and technical process, including research, concept development, writing, direction, performance direction, cinematography, lighting, camera operation, editing, pacing, sound design, motion graphics and color grading.

The final piece combines original footage, performance and archival material to move between storytelling, history and science without losing the connection to the viewer's everyday experience.
